1995 - 2002
Keiko began painting to heal from a bout of Malaria on a visit to Africa, while still a student in Japan. The moment was a turning point in her journey, as she chose art over a career as a veterinarian. While she started with traditional Japanese-style painting which uses mineral pigments on Washi paper, her style later evolved into painted collages exploring the concepts of layers, space and time.
